Default Seat issues

I have a 2014 SGS with 9000 on the odo. The stock seat kills after about 50-75 miles. Seems to get me in the tailbone, like its too short, making long rides miserable. I tried a friends Mustang seat (76033), one piece touring and although the comfort is there, it moves me so far forward that Im straddling the tank and my grips are too close. They make another model that says its 1.75 inches farther back, but it goes from stock 14.5 inches wide to 19"! One user said it looked like he strapped his Easy-Boy to his bike.

Looking for comfort and good looks. Any suggestions? It's hard to find "demo" seats these days near me (So Cal). Has anyone tried having their stock seat rebuilt?

The Mustang Super Solo will sit you back like the stock SG seat and up maybe 1/2". I think the solo seat look good. You can add a passenger seat of your choice. Takes only a minute to install or remove the rear pass pad.

The 76033 Mustang you tried sits you much more forward than the stocker.

I'm a beat up old man but I was good for 200 miles on the stock SGS seat before I started dancing around! I used the Mustang Super Solo on my SGS and I put the Super Tour on my Ultra. The Super Tour looks huge on the SG but looks fine on a dresser. I'm 5'10" 230lbs.

Good luck....
I don't really care what a seat looks like. Luckily my eyes are in my head and not in my a**.

Corbin. I tour on a Corbin Classic Solo and previously on a Corbin DualTour. I often ride 10-12 hours day after day on a Corbin and I am 77 years old so I ain't no hard azz.

each of us is different- you'd do best by sitting on seats- go to a dealer with alot of used bikes ( 2009+ models with aftermarket seats) and see what seems to work for you.
go to a bike night or other event and ask other riders what they use, and how they like---many will offer to let you sit on the bike.

I use a SG seat for shorter rides, 4 to 6 hours max, and a stock ultra seat for touring- with that and shocks tuned for a floaty ride, I can do 500 mile days day after day.
seat swap is a 2 minute operation

I had a poor experience with Corbin and would never give them a cent-and their aftersale "service" was even worse.
caveat emptor

I have a 15 police glide. I swapped the police seat with the dealer for a electra glide seat. The passenger area is freaking huge, but the wife likes it for longer rides. I also bought a Street glide seat for everyday riding. having two to switch back and forth from is nice.

The Airhawk is amazing comfortable...but does not look so great. I stow it when parked...when riding my *** covers it.

Before using the airhawk I used to pull the cover off each seat I got. They are easy to reshape (knife or sander) and then put some comfort foam on top of the stock foam and staple the cover back on.

+1 on the Airhawk. Maybe not the most elegant solution, but it turned my uncomfy seat into one I can ride on all day long.

And as been said, you can stash it when you leave the bike ...

You want what!!??,a good looking and comfortable seat. Good luck, seriously I do sincerely wish you luck, I tried 4 different seats last year on my street glide, and the only one that was comfortable for me was the old sundowner. That seat is comfy but in my opinion not very flattering on a street glide. The Le Pera maverick is an awesome looking bigger seat but hard as a rock for me.
