A search of the forum, as usual, turned up very little on this subject, so here goes: Just recently noticed a noise from the from top of the motor only at lowest idle rpm. Kind of a metal on metal sound. A bar between the frame and upper motor mount with a little pressure makes the sound reduce. Removing the torx head motor mount bolt at the motor makes the sound go away entirely. This is on the rod stabilizer running right-left at the top of the motor. In order to rethread the bolt back in, I had to pry the motor over to the right side about 1/16-1/8".
Anyone see this before? Could the upper mount be shot at 6,000 miles already?
Curious if anyone has some insight or exp with this issue because my 09 with 15k miles on it seems to be doing same thing for the same reason & wonder what can be done about it.
Hmmm, I loosened the bolt on both ends of the link, then re-tightened them with the motor idling. Seems to be quiet now. Going to mention it to the service dept and keep an eye (or an ear!) on it for now. I'm tempted to replace the frame side bolt with something stronger to avoid the issue in the other post.
