Good call to leave them in place , in case a fuelpak or PC failure.
Unhook programmer and hook up sensors.
Seems to be a little confusion here, at least I am confused Nothing new really.

Some replies say they have the FP and their O2 sensors are plugged in. Other replies are based towards the PC and leave them disconnected.
Which one are you using?

Anyway, I bought the bike this past spring, its stage one.
Air cleaner, slips, and power commander.
That's how I bought it.

So, I found while removing stock pipes. That the O2 sensors are unplugged.
Always runs fine.

It now has vh fuelpak, rush true duals head pipes, Rinehart slips.

Seems to run just fine.

What's with the sensors being unhooked ??

Should I plug them back in. ??

I believe he said it came with a PC but now has a FP.
I don't know much about either one but when I read the install directions I posted earlier it doesn't say to unhook the O2 for the FP.

It came with PC 3, and the resistor caps.

It now has a vh fuelpak.

Sorry for the confusion.

I bought the fuelpak used, and didn't get instructions, or caps.

Here's a new question tho. I also installed a used fuelpak on my buds 2012 street glide. Again, no instructions, or caps of any sort.
Should I be looking for a set of resistor caps. ??

I think I'll contact VH.

There are two varieties of "piggy-back" tuners...narrow-band (e.g. O2 sensors capped) & wide-band (e.g. O2 sensors connected). Your initial tuner was "narrow-band" as it had the O2 sensor caps (resistors)...

I did see he also had moved to the FP from the PC, but remember reading this thread when I was initially deciding which to buy for myself:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/dyna-...-fuel-pak.html

And hopefully to clarify, it sounds like his wires are "unplugged" but the exhaust is still "plugged" with the O2 sensor. I don't think he meant the pipes had open holes in them. For a cleaner look you could remove the O2 sensors and install bungs. I'd keep the O2 sensors in a bag in case you wanted to go back at any time (resell??) . Or just leave them in the pipes in case you wanted to plug the wires back in later.

I was wondering. I run a power vision. Basic mode for auto tunes. Have open pipes. A local tuner said to unplug the 02 sensors and it would tune better. Is that along these lines. Thanks

If you want to know just how to tune, install and use these tuners you would be better off calling Dynojet or V&H or Fuel Moto.

Lets take the PV, in Auto tune basic: the base fuel Table is set to a AFR of 14.6 for the whole table, this puts the whole table in closed loop where the tuner receives information from the O2 sensors, in open loop the O2 sensors do not give feed back. In AT Basic while auto tuning in the green screen the PV learns and records the AFR being reported by the O2 sensors.
Go to DynoJet's website and watch the video: Advanced auto tune, that's where I got this information, pay attention around 1:50 and 3:10.
I have to wonder if the PV would even auto tune with the O2 unhooked or wouldyou get error NBF and NBR O2 Sensors not ready?

I wonder how many poor running bikes are out there because Tuners like the FP, PV and others are not being used as designed.
