My dad's '12 FLHX with a 110 just had a lifter failure. He's spending another $8500 on it for an S&S crank and a cam selected strictly based on lift numbers. I told him when he bought the bike to only do cams and ride it for years.......
Just to let everyone know,my nephew has a 2013 Ultra Classic CVO--110 cu engine that recently failed at 11,000 miles due to cam bearings comming apart and destroying engine.Stil under warentee and HD didn't want to cover it because he had slip-on pipes installed. After much bickering back and forth with attorny involved they finally caved in and replaced the motor.I thought HD had upgraded the cam bearings by now, guess not.My friend also had a '07 110cu CVO fail at 13,000 miles, out of warenty, oil pump came apart on day ride.Destroyed crank, cams and lifters. Both rides were maintained well. Just wanted to pass this along. Skip
Skip, sorry to hear of your issue. But in the end can you tell us about the real costs to you with the attorney fees and aggrevation?
My point of this is so when the folks come out here and start throwing out the Magnusen Moss Act and they have to prove this and that, as the person that has the reality of the issue, is in an aggrevating position to have to deal with this stuff.

I think he got ripped off, for about the same money he could have had an entire S&S 124" installed.
This is BS. The V-twin motor is basically a hopped up lawn mower engine technologically. Their is nothing refined about any HD motor. Thankfully i've never had a motor issue with any HD i've owned. I can only assume this was a fluke i.e. isolated incident.
