Default headlight

I just installed the oem dual bulb headlight on my 07 flhrs. My only question is the front headlight trim ring now fits rather loose and vibrates at certain rpms. I am sure there is a simple solution but thought I would ask what others have done?

Are you sure that you've got the top center "tang" on the outer ring hooked into the mounting plate assy . It's easy to miss.

Yes I got the spring tang in the mounting plate. It just seems like bottom screw tab needs to be bent in a little but dont want to screw something up.

Compare the old headlight, to the new one. If they are the same...as they likely are...you probably got something installed wrong. From someone who has screwed things up too many times...modify existing hardware only after you are 100% confident that is the problem.

I agree that is why I am asking before I "adjust" the screw tab. Everything is assembled per the factory manual. Like I said in the original post this is a new headlight and mounting plate so I was thinking maybe manufacturing variations.

If the top "tang" is in place, makes sure the ring is pulled down and around bottom 1/2 of headlight all the way and seated evenly around the headlight all the way around. If that is in place and still has an alignment issue, pull the ring back off and reverse the back ring. Some back rings are tapered and need to go in the reversed way you have it.

I appreciate all the advice but I still have the same problem. This is the new dual bulb kit and the backing ring will only go on one way. The trim ring just remains loose.
