Default 103 maintenance concerns

I have a 2013 SG that has 22k miles with the stock 103 and stage one. Has FM 2-1-2 headpipe, jackpot muffs, FM intake and dynojet pv-1. All running good. Did not get the extended warranty and wondering what are some of the maintenance items to be watching, dealing with, that are not in the manual. Anything in particular to be concerned about?

I,think he means the stuff that ***** itself that shouldn't. Like lifters, cam chain shoes, cam bearings etc. Coming from an older Evo I am interested also what to keep an eye on or just plain replace due to miles.

you may want to inspect the bottom end after the end of riding season. your getting into the miles it may be time to replace rods and tappets . Thats just my two cents .. like i said it depends what kind of miles are on your scooter .

Replacing rods and tappets at 22k miles? What kind of factory defect are you riding?

Well hopefully he can use something off the list of things to be done on mileage maintenance if not...Oh well.

Change the fluids at the regular intervals, make sure your tires have good tread and are up to recommended pressures. Then ride your motorcycle. Don't let internet forums convince you that your bike won't go down the road without taking it apart.

If you believe most internet forums, you will soon begin to wonder if your bike will even make it through a season without major problems.

Do as Nomadmax suggested, perform all the required maintenance and ride.

Remember, for every "problem" you read about on any forum, there are thousands of other bikes of the same year/model that didn't have that problem.

Well stated. Engine is running great at this time with the usual top end rattles and ticks, but it keeps ticking just fine every day. I was interested in hearing about anything in particular that has been a problem for more than a few people. I still have the stock compensator and its working fine.
Anything else to keep an eye on that's not listed as a troublesome part in the service manual?
