I like stupid loud. Nothing better than my dads heritage with Vance Hines staggered short shots.
However, I'm fairly happy with the pro pipe now that I've modified the baffle. If I ever see a used fat cat muffler sell by itself on here or eBay (just muffler, not head pipe) I might buy it and try it out with my pro pipe header. Assuming my Vance Hines header ends in a similar spot and has the same diameter as the fat cat.
I know my d and d pipe makes my bike run like a scalded dog !! And I like it loud !!
Yeah, I think the louder they are, the faster they seem....if it makes you happy it's all good. Just ease out of the neighborhood with light throttle and the neighbors will be fine. Or, if you hate your neighbors, then let her rip!
My Samson Hell Raiser 2-2 pipes wake the dead. I know I've lost some power but I really can't tell in what zone so it's a wash. I had Rinehart True Duals but where I live it seemed everyone had them. Nice part with the 2-2 right side pipes is I can see my chrome rear wheel, brake rotor, chrome pulley and lower belt guard. I'll sacrifice a bit of power for the look and a great exhaust note.
...Thing that pisses me off is V&H no longer makes ANY replacement parts for it....Not sure when the newer model came out, but bought mine in 2008, and it is now obsolete....
I realize this post is from two months ago, but just for anyone who's reading this thread, this is not correct. V&H most definitely still make the Pro Pipe and the different baffles.
I'm in a different place than the op, mine has the stock baffle and it's way louder than I like. I do love the performance, but even at highway speeds in 6th it's so loud it's downright irritating.
Any suggestions to mellow it out a bit? Wrap another layer of steel wool around the baffle?
