Default Shock Question

Looking to replace the stock Air Shocks on 13 Street Glide. I think I want to go with the Premium Hand-Adjustable Touring shocks since take offs can be had at a bargain. I know stock is 12".. Question is, 13" or 12" for the Street Glide..

13"! More travel and more lean angle = more better.

13" will give you more clearance in the turns - but why are you exchanging one "bad" shock with another - if you're going to make the change, anti up and buy some good aftermarket shocks....

I had 12" on my '12. They were good shocks once you got them dialed in. I got rid of them simply because I needed just a bit more lowering to get flat footed so I went Shotgun shocks. But I was happy with them.

As hippie said, go with 13"

However, all the takeoffs that you find from the street glides will be 12"

The 12" premiums on my SGS are still a whole lot better ride than the 13" factory air ride on my last 2 Ultras!

I have a set of 12" pro action shocks with approx 300 miles on them, going up for sale. They are as new. If your interested, lmk. I will be listing them in the for sale section as soon as I snap a few pics. I just purchased them a few weeks ago for my '13 street glide, but just sold that bike and picked up a '15 road glide which I'm planning on installing air ride suspension, stretched bags, fender, etc. The shocks are $795 new and I'm asking $600 plus the ride.

Unless the listing is a mistake, finding both.. Will these not fit 13 Street Glide ??

Will the 13" actually raise the bike 1" or just allow more travel ?? Jiffy Stand still ok with the 13s ??

if you decide to go with 13" make sure the front end of your bike hasn't been lowered. It is not recommended to have the front lowered and not the rear. Can't speak for the adjustable shocks but I have had a couple bikes lowered. My 06 ultra lowered didn't bother me. But when I got the 13 Limited I lowered the rear with 12" air shocks like on the SG. So far so good so I got the kit to lower the front end also. Run that for a couple weeks and replaced back with stock. Then I had Mean City Cycle do mods on my seat. This was great. I just never could get over the ride with the 12" shocks so replaced with the 13" stock shocks. Ride is quite a bit better now and with the seat mod I still flat foot with a 29" inseam. But all that said I think I'm going to try the adjustable shock now for a better ride than the stock air shocks. The 13" shocks will probably raise you about 3/4".
