Shock Question
They will raise your bike about 1" - see my signature pic - the jiffy stand will be fine, just make sure you turn your handlebars to the right as you bring it up off it off the jiffy stand as it will make lifting it a whole lot easier....
I switched my 12" Street Glide air shocks for 12" premium hand adjustable and have been super happy with the results.
There is only 3/4" difference between the 12 and 13, so you are only giving up 3/8" of travel each way.
The premium hand adjustable are easy to swap over. Only need to unplug the air hoses and two bolts. I left the stock air hoses on the bike in case I might want to switch back.
These Premiums are a whole bunch better than the air shocks, both for more comfort and also more control.
I bought mine as take offs used, and sold my original air shocks to a buddy that wanted to lower his Road King. Ended up costing very little $ and less than 1/2 hour to exchange them.
I understand the Ohlins are even better, but they cost more, are much more difficult to set up, and take more work changing over from running single to riding double with bags.
Think your original idea is a good one.

Wow! There is so much incorrect information in this post I don't know where to start. First, your Street Glide has 12 inch shocks, as you know. It's considered lowered from the factory. The front forks are the same standard length as all touring bikes that year. The "standard" length shocks are 12 3/4 inches. They have never been 13 inches as many like to claim. Swapping to a standard length shock will not only give you a better ride, but is compatible with all your factory componenets. Jumping to a premium HD hand adjustable shock will give you all that much better of a ride and comfort, without breaking the bank. Regardless of length.
All in all, your talking about 3/4 of an inch and a much better overhaul ride.
