Actually reaction time to an unexpected event which takes place in front of an attentive rider/driver is quoted as 0.6 of a second, however in real terms a reaction time of 1 second is more realistic. At 100 mph this equates to a distance travelled of 45 meters as near as dammit. Now if you aint looking much more than 45 meters in front at any speed you shouldnt be on the road.
I been riding for over 26 years and I'm still here, and am trained in advanced riding/driving. Its part of what I do for a living.
Lastly speed does not cause accidents, bad riding/driving does.
As for life being snuffed out. Well a guy i work with dropped down dead of a heart attack last week at 45years, walking his dog.
Its always later than you think......................
Dude, sounds like you need a big bore kit, all kinds of head work, cams, and bunch of other ****. Probably about $7K worth. Then you can run with the big boys at 110.

You push the bike to its top speed because you can. You can control that. What you can't control are the unknowns down the road while traveling at that velocity. I know of a dead guy that died doing just what you like to do.......a wild turkey flew into his path at the wrong moment and the wrong altitude......not good for the guy nor the bird. Neither of 'em saw it coming.
If he was looking at least 45 meters down the road.....little good it did him.
I agree....when your ticket is punched, it's punched, but there is no sense in holding it out there at arms length.
You're out of torque. Drop a gear and it will go faster. No problem getting to 110 on my Ultra ... but I have an '06 ... no 6th gear. Oh .... hopefully one of those judgemental 75 MPH guys won't get in your way.
Had my 88" up over 100 mph and may have gone faster. When I looked down and saw 102, figured the wife and kids would want me to slow down. That being said, I haul @ss everywhere I go on the bike. Just to get away from the cages.[:@]
