"Thats mfg by Deka.
Happy motoring.

How do you tell if it is a Deka? Just judging from the weight of the thing, it is a good quality battery.
EDIT: Never mind Scott, I found my answer. I knew it didn't say Deka anywhere on the box. A little google search for EPM Products and there was my answer. (The "Made in the USA" on the box and the weight of the thing already had me convinced I had a pretty good battery)

Reason: found the answer.
I have the MTX-30L AGM Maintenance Free
Battery from battery mart, purchased in July 2015. Two months later, so far so good, even in this triple digit Texas heat.
I got mine from O"Reilly's. Cost a little more but you can find them anywhere. http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0058&ppt=C0393
I use a ETX 16 in my shovelhead in stead of one of those black cinderblock batteries, 325cca vs 240cca.

I bought the MTX30l from Battery Mart about 4 months ago. Chinese made as opposed to the Deka which is American made. Have to agree with the above in that the connections aren't a real quality. Having said all that, no problems as yet. I'd probably go American made next time.
Very useful info. Ordering a battery and I was wondering why the price diff between the MTX30L and the ETX30L. American made versus China.
I replaced a Deka (rebrand) which lasted about one year with the Mega Crank. I do recal the posts are of better quality but if you don't hang the battery by the wire connections nothing is stressing the posts. Time will tell I guess but my goal is lasting longer than the Deka dieing on me in about 13 months, fortunately while I wasn't on a road trip.
So I'm shopping for a new battery for my 2015 SGS; Stumbled upon your post from 2015 and figured I'd drop a line to see how long that Mega Crank battery lasted, being it is now 2019. Is it worth a $20+ savings from the ETX30L? Should I not get the MTX30L? I'm in CA and whether is obviously not an issue.
Thanks!

Get the ETX ... Same manufacturer as for HD
And use these included spacers if using the "Side Posts"
Just bought the ETX-30L from amazon not to long ago. Was $107.99 shipped. Deka brand and also made in the USA. Have -15 degree winters here, keep on a battery tender in winter months. Nothing but positive and 5 star reviews on it.
