Heres a question/observation... Those washers look smaller than what comes with the stock QR. Are you supposed to reuse the stock fender washers with these?
If not I would think you would want a larger area so not to crack the bag around the hole.
re-use the stock fender washers.
I went the hardware store route because i only wanted to put one bolt on each side. I guess hardware stores by me are expensive tho because the price would not have been far off if i just went with one of the kits.

Sorry I guess I should have elaborated more. I love the mod I feel the bags are more secure than stock even though HD has put them on that way for years. Just an OCD thing for me I guess As far as paying for a kit just didn't see the need. Hope that is a better response.
I have the Brukus fasteners. Same thing basically. They work very well at 2 things.
1. They secure your bags in such as way as to prevent them from falling off and deters theft.
2. It supports the local guys just trying to make a living, rather than the big box stores. More expensive, yes. But I don't mind when it is going to an individual who has shown some inguinuity and work ethic rather to some big conglomerate.
I use these to make sure bags don't fall off....better yet, I don't need any sort of tools to remove the bags......it works for me....and yes they are available at your local ACE hardware store...

Yes the hardware store option is cheaper but I bought the Brukus seat and saddlebag hardware because the owner is a veteran and I like to support them whenever I can.
