Default Helibar install

I have had my 04 FLHTCI since new and have changed the bars on that bike several times - I even got a wild hair back in about 07 and changed it to a RG - then back about two years later to a EG - missed my bat wing

I am a short rider (5'6" - age 65) I just got a 2015 Ultra Limited Low - I was hoping the LOW would solve the 'short' issues - the bars were just OK for me and most likely they would have served me just fine - However, as a Harley rider - we Have to change things, LOL

Ever since I saw the Helibars

http://www.helibars.com/products/Hel...Glide/610.html

I wanted to try them but the Price is Crazy expensive ( I did find a good place at a decent price - if Truly interested, PM me and I will give that info to you)

I contacted Helibars and there really aren't people in my area to do an install and since the company is based in Maine - that is not possible. I tried to contact a rider on this forum that had them - wanting some advice - no response - I understand - who is this guy in Ca that wants my help??

Since I have removed the fairing on my 04 many times and have changed those Bars 3 times - I was not really concerned in getting in over my head - However - things have changed since 2004 - 2015 inside the fairing is somewhat different.

actually Harley has improved several things on this bike as far as removing the controls and bars to make it a lot more user friendly

I found this Youtube video on changing bars on a 2015 and watched it Many times - this video is a GREAT resource for anyone wanting to change out bars on a 14/15 - GREAT details

I also called the Helibar company and they put me with a Tech that was a GREAT help and said call back as often as you like with any question - LOL and I did and he took time to walk me through all my questions.

I am now about 98% done - I work REAL slow and since this is my First Helibar install - I learned a few tricks along the way with the help of Helibar tech support.

For a short rider or maybe a super tall rider - I think they are going to be great. They do offer a 30 Return policy - full refund if you do not like them. However.

Being that this is a MULTI positional bar - the install is more work/complicated than a standard handle bar install - It will test you but worth it when you are done

This is about a 1+ hour install by a good tech - they know all the tricks and if I was close to an event or close to the company - I would have paid them to install them - just because adjusting these bars take time and patient.

I Always pay it forward on this forum - If you are interested in Helibars and are willing to cut loose with the $$$ - they Ain't cheap.

PM me and I will help you how ever I can - If your close to Modesto, CA - you are welcome to stop by = bring Beer - that's the admission, lol

Keep in mind if you ever do get a chance to sit on a bike with Helibars - these bars are set up for That Rider and may not feel good to You = that's the beauty = when adjusting the bars - you adj them to YOUR liking

I got the black ones - Once my install is completed - I will post some pictures..

I put Heli's on this summer. It's a great bar. You will be very pleased.

The Heli crew installed mine at Bike Week on my Street Glide in 90 minutes. There's your challenge.

If I had their experience - No Problem, lol

My first try - so far Iam happy - Several changes by HD since 04 - make this much easier

Btw - what did they charge for the install?
