Can someone guide me on an issue I'm having with my new Medallion Gauge installation? I cannot get the oil temp gauge to work. Its pegging? Im using it as the directions say, with the Harley oil temp sender. I spliced the sender wires from the Harley sender to the Medallion wire labeled oil temp. Still pegged? This is a 2010 Street Glide. Thanks for any insight. Medallion Installation instructions stink
if so you probably use the medallion sender as in the instructions ( most Harley models do not have a temp sender installed stock, if you already have the medallion should plug right into your sensor...you are not confusing oil temp and oil pressure are you?)
be VERY VERY careful removing that plug and installing the sender....that hole is pipe thread which is tapered- if over torqued the oil pan can split

when i first installed my oil temp gauge , it did the same thing, pegged the needle.
in my case, it was simple. a bad ground. once the ground wire was attached to a suitable GOOD ground, it worked and has worked flawlessly for about 6 years.
Thanks all! I figured it out. The Harley oil pressure gauge sender is not compatible as it says in instructions. I had to use the Medallion sender and rewire that gauge with the Medallion pigtail. I also discovered they are not 100% plug and play as indicated on web site. I didn't like sticking exposed blade terminals into the old oil pressure gauge socket and taping it to hold it in as indicated in instructions. I spliced and soldered the wiring properly. Now all gauges work
Thanks Mike, I figured a quality soldered joint covered in heat shrink would hold up better than sliding two flat terminals into the existing factory connector without anything to hold them in other than tape as suggested in the instruction set. Rinky Dink in my opinion. The instructions with the gauges suck too! But I got them installed and they do look super nice, particularly at night!

that's why cars and motorcycles are built with crimp terminals
