Yeah, very nice job. I did and maybe you did to, notice Harleys Tour Pak version, part #68000151 for the tour pak and both saddlebags. $119. MSRP
I think I still like yours better.
Thanks. Yes I did see those, however the one you list is for a 2014 + bike, the ones I looked at for my bike (a 2008) is part number 54331-04A which is the same price and about the same thing, however, my design is quite a bit cheaper to do even though I didn't put lights in my saddle bags it wouldn't be that difficult to do using the same type switch and lights, I just didn't want to be drilling any holes in my bags to do it. Even the way I did my tour pack lights, I could feed the wires out an existing grommet on the left side of the tour pack, so no holes there either. Also, another thing I like about mine v.s. the Harley ones is you don't have to fumble around trying to find a switch to turn them on, they come on automatically when you open the tour pack and shut off automatically when you close it.
Im too lazy for all that. Got 2 Sylvania led pucks with double sided tape already on from local hardware store for $10 total. One is more than enough light ever needed. I have never had to use both but just in case....its there..

I tried the 2 sided tape light approach and it worked for awhile but the tape would not hold them on after a bit. Think it just got hot in the tourpac and degraded the tape. After that they would not stick anymore.

I'd say you're using the wrong type of tape, try using 3M VHB tape, you wouldn't believe how well it holds. I've never had anything come loose using the VHB tape and I've used it in a lot of different applications. It's great stuff.

It was the tape that was already stuck to the back of the light.
