One night I was trying to find something in my tour pack in the dark and of course the batteries in my flashlight were dead. This gave me the idea of putting in some LED lights that are hard wired to the bikes battery that are activated by a magnetic switch so they turn on automatically when the tour pack is opened. I had a small piece of 12v LED light strip and magnetic switches that were leftover from a different project that I used. While I was at it, I also installed a USB charging port for my cell phone. It works real good and its nice not having to fumble with a flashlight. Here's what I came up with.
As you can see they're pretty bright, I just ran the wires behind my tour pack lid organizer.
Here you can see the white magnetic switch and the USB port.
Nice, I went to Lowe's and both a 3 pak of LED round lights powered by a AA battery. Put a piece of 3M double sided tape on the back and stuck one in the tour pack and each saddle bag. Cost about $13.
