2 piece seats?
I've tried searching, but couldn't come up with anything.
What are the advantages/disadvantages of a 2 piece seat for a touring bike?
Is it just for when you want a solo seat and take off the passenger part or ?

Right seat for you. Right seat for her (assuming you're heterosexual). Solo configs with quick detach acc. 2 up solo touring flexibility.
For me i can't stand the width of a normal touring seat while the women like the pillions. All boils down to how you use the bike.

Not that it matters, but you assumed correctly.
Use the Ultimate seat as an example, I don't see an option to mix and match since there only seems to be 1 choice for the passenger.

Thanks for the replies, I have no plans to take the tour pak off, so I guess I have my answer.
I do like how the 2 piece doesn't look as bulky in the back area for driver though and is the reason I thought about it.
