I have the PM windshield trim On mine, I'm not seeing any issues with it but I'll keep an eye on it now. It's been on about 6 months, and I remove and replace my fairing a lot and it still looks great.
Have you tried calling the store you bought it from? They might just send you a new one, and pay to have the defective one sent back to them? Worth a try if it's fairly new.

I may when things slow down. For now, I just put my Harley slotted bar and shield back on. Actually, the Harley trim is much thicker and heavier. It seems to also keep vibes down between the shield and fairing that I noticed I'm getting with the PM trim.
