A bit more coin than some, but SounzCustomz kit is top notch. $1100 for their stage 4 kit. This is for front 2 speakers and amp. Focal speakers. They have cheaper kits as well that still utilize the focal speakers.
You're not going to gain much just changing speakers. No disrespect intended, but Boom gear isn't highly though of with the audio guys. Couple of questions...what's your goals and what's your budget?
I just purchased the Biketronics 2180 kit for my 2015 RGS. I did my install in 2 stages due to time and it was clear that an amp is key. The speakers alone were an upgrade but it was clear the head unit didn't have enough power. I have the amp in now and the bike is at the dealer flashed and waiting for work and weather to cooperate. Even before the flash there was a significant improvement.
Also I don't think you can beat the value. After taking advantage of their Labor Day sale and HD forums discount I think it was at my door for $611. Install was pretty easy. The speakers are about a 1 beer install and the amp was about a 2-3 beer install.

A friend sold me a pair of Boom Stage I speakers for $50. I would need to get the amp and I'm wondering if anyone has the Boom Stage I speakers and amp and what do you think about them?

Stage 1 Boom is definitely going to be a significant improvement over stock but the common opinion is there are better systems. But it's probably the most popular of the systems.
If you do a search in the audio forum there is a ton of information on it. I would suggest reading about Boom, Biketronics, hog tunes, J&M. Also if you have a hard time wrapping your head around it all (like myself) I would suggest calling Biketronics. They are extremely knowledgable and after I spoke with Donna I had a full understanding.

I did stage 1 upgrade over the winter, and added the saddlebag lid speakers as well. Since it's all HD, it's all pretty much plug and play. Pretty decent increase in sound quality over the factory speakers. I'm happy with it.
For around $425 i went with Arc audio moto 602 speakers, cerwin vega b2 amp, sni 35, and biketronics recommended flash. Loud, clear, and even feel a little bass going down the road. Haze and Gannicus helped me out a lot over in the audio section.
