But not neccessariy required.
Just installed this unit on my 15 SGS. All connections done in the fairing. Have to tap into the blue/white wire (high beam) however you install it, so I just tapped into the hot and ground leads feeding the power point also. The Electrical connection Kit you mention just allows you to plug the power leads into the connection behind side cover, but you still have to tap into a high beam wire.

The Harley version is $116. You don't need the harness, you hook into the high beam wire, a ground, and I used the cig lighter plug for the hot.
