Default Spots don't work

For reasons unknown, my spots quit working. Fuse is good, headlight works, high/low selector switch is on low. The connector tucked under the throttle side inner fairing is seated as is the 2 wire connector that feeds the spots. The indicator light on the switch itself does not light up when in the on position. Hoping to ride tonight, any ideas?

John, start checking to see if you have power to your switch? if yes and no power out =bad switch ??

No power to switch then check connections ?

Process of elimination.

Probably logical to start at the fuse block though and work your way up the line.

Could be a bad ground ??

I doubt it's a bad ground. Each spot grounds at the bucket that holds it, and it's unlikely two separate ones went bad at the same time. Fuse is good, checked with a DMM, but since they draw voltage from the low beam headlight circuit and the headlight works I don't think it's a voltage supply problem. I suppose it could be the switch, but since the indicator light doesn't work it seems to me that there's no voltage getting to it to begin with. Guess I won't be riding tonight after all.

You can always bypass the switch and run a dedicated power source after the switch but is is dang easy to verify where the power stops. A 1.99 tester poked in the wire will tell the tale.

sometimes simply unplugging connectors and plugging them in does the trick. Use dielectric grease to seal them too.

You runnin the Trucklight spots too ??

I have all 3 and and just love all the light available. I would rather have them working like you but the headlight sure covers well, almost better alone than the stock with spots.

Our bikes are sure similar too. I am running the BAL1 though.

Had the same thing happen to my Road King a couple years ago. Different animal but you still have a toggle. Mine went bad so I hard wired it so the spots stay on all the time.

I have a old Cop bike and the spots are wired to a double switch on the right controls, they also work hi or low beam. I love the switch location because I can control them easily without removing my hands from the bars.
Since I have such bright lights and I have them adjusted to suit me on dark roads for full coverage or when i ride loaded 2 up, they can be a bit high and annoy oncoming traffic. I can easily switch on and off if needed.

Procedural apples and oranges between an RK and an EG, but I hear you. I have voltage with a simple test light at the battery side of the connector that powers the fairing cap. I hoped to ride tonight and was hoping for an easy fix that didn't require a possible switch. Instead I'll take the truck and deal with it tomorrow. Thanks for your advice.
