Default Adding LEDs inside speaker grills

I'm looking to add LED lights inside my speaker grills in my front fairing on my '14 ultra limited. I would also like to change the head unit button LED colors. Has anyone done either of these and if so, any advice? Thanks in advance.

Default Adding LEDs inside speaker grills

I did a DIY on this a couple of years back. Link is below. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions. I'm not totally sure how it applies to the Rushmore models, but hopefully you can find it a little useful.

This is a pretty simple mod. You can get the LEDs at auto zone for about $25.00 they come on a strip that is self adhesive. All you got to do is take your speaker grille off and drill a small hole for the wiring to go through. Connect the wiring to your gage wiring and your done. Easy Peasy

Adding the led's is just part of it. To see them, you need different grille material. Go to Office Depot and get a mesh trash can. Cut out a couple of pieces larger than the stock grilles and trim them to the size/shape of your existing grilles. As mentioned, you can get led's on an adhesive backed strip, or a better solution is to find led rings, something like this: https://www.superbrightleds.com/sear.../angel%20eyes/. Find a discreet location to drill a hole for the wire. I have lots of led accent lighting, and my speakers are tied to the rest of it. Replace the gauge lighting to match your speakers, looks good when done.
