Had mine just over a year and really like them. Used them on my trips in rain and cold and they work great. never had to set them over the #5 setting as they do get warm. I like that i can still use thin gloves for when the day warms up.
I've got the HD heated grips and they work great, no problems what-so-ever. I also use the heated seat and heated jacket and pants. Nothing like riding when it's 27 degrees out and you are toasty warm.
Got heated HD grips. First set were defective, second set are doin ok. Works great (so far...[sm=confused06.gif]) except for the pinky finger and thick gloves. Thought about heated gloves, but didn't like the wires...my .02..
I did think about the heated gloves option. The problem with that is having something else to carry in the bike verses turning on grips. I have had Hot Grips on other rides but they are Hard with no squish.
So has anybody used a heated grip I found on ebay that is foam covered? I think the seller/maker is in New York or somewhere on the other coast. They have a web site and a place to download install instructions in a PDF format. Any quality issues? Anyone have them on there bike?

The thing about it, Joe, is that you'll be carrying and wearing gloves in that kind of weather anyway, and the Gerbings I have are like a pair of heavy winter gloves that can be used either powered up or not. I am selling my pair of heavy (unheated) HD gloves because the Gerbings serve that purpose, and if it's really cold I'll power them up. The one downside to heated gloves is the wiring, which is a minor hassle. I am going to try attaching the wires to the inside of my jacket with safety pins for a semi-permanent install, and that will keep me from running the wires every time I want to use the heated gloves. My big problem is that I rarely remember to disconnect them before getting off the bike, which causes them to pull off when I dismount, and that's not good for the connector even though they are pretty robust.
HD heated gloves and clothes are made by gerbing and have a lifetime warranty. I've got a set of the aileron heated grips on my SG, no problems so far. I've used the heated vest for two winters now and it really helps, keeps my entire upper body warm and that goes a long way toward keeping it fun when the temps drop.
