$60 dealer take-offs on the way.
If I decide to keep the bike I will probably move up to Ohlins or Progressives.
My experience with all of Progressive's gear has been positive.

How do you go about doing that?

Upgrade. You'd be surprised how much your ride can improve. I replaced the stock shocks with Progressives and am SO glad the stockers went out.

Probably the easiest fix for leaking factory shocks is to replace them with a take-off set. Had that happen on my 2000 Road Glide years ago.

I happened to be at Americade, stopped by the Progressive shock area and they gave me a set, free!

The stock shock is fine with me, yeah I might enjoy Ohlins or Progressive but for now I will save that money. The fresh oil in the shocks and forks improved the ride. Maybe 1 day but after 90000 miles with them on there? The stock ones are staying. I spent that money on a new seat.

Before you bolt them on drain and replace the fluid, there are many threads here on how to do it.

I gravity drained them first time by removing the fitting and hanging upside down over a bucket.

I used a horse syringe to fill then by finding a needle that fit tight in a small length 2" of the air line, injecting the new fluid about a half syringe load at a time.

Easy and cheap and boy what a big improvement over what was in there.

FWIW I used some synthetic ATF.
