I had a Goldwing 1500 for a few years, bought a roadstar last june after the wing burned to the ground with me on it (I didn't get hurt at all), bought my 2015 road glide a little over a month ago.
All were real bikes. I will never say anything bad about a Goldwing even though mine burned up on the road (PO wiring issue). its a damn fine long distance touring bike. That resale argument is really not true at all. Doubt me on that? take a look at used Goldwing prices. they are not cheap at all.

Agree completely, anything with 2 wheels is a real bike and the Goldwing does hold it's value, probably better than HD. Never understood the whole "Real Bike" thing.
