I will give them a shout but the stock shocks on my King are 12" so I have to go with 12" or risk messing with the geometry.
If you swap from 12" to 13" shocks or back your geometry will be fine, unless you have made other mods. The various models H-D sells us have the same front end, regardless of which length shocks they come with when new.

99% True, Unless you bought a Ultra Low - then you should NOT go to a 13 on the rear without also raising the front - Which I did == I bought the Low hoping that HD had improved the shocks since my 04 - in My opinion - they did Not.
These posts on Shocks go on and on - so many different opinions and so many choices - so much depends on which 'Kool-Aid' we drink, lol.
You may not be far off. Have you ever thought of keeping the preload a tad tight to not bottom out and either reworking your seat? Add a gel layer or closed-foam section in lieu of some of the padding and you may have your answer. As others have mentioned, stiff for some is soft for others. These bikes are an expensive luxury. You might as well get it right.... Whatever it costs. Otherwise, you are not getting the pleasure you deserve. Good luck.
You are onto something.....
I think I was trying to keep them too soft. I have increased the preload and they are much better....
Best part, the wife likes the ride much better now ..... phew...!
