If you were going to change out the uppers, you might as well do the lowers. You will be in the same place and seems like you should do them both at the same time.I have seen a set of uppers with flames on them that MoCo makes, when I get to the lowers, I will switch these also. I haven't run numbers, but you should do the lowers at the same time and figure a price to do both.

i have the flamed uppers and i am considering changing to the plain chrome ones. the lowers are already done.
Uppers only? I can do it 1-2 hours. Uppers and lowers? 2-3 hours.
I think that would depend on the bike too though. A Glide will probably take another hour or so on top of what you listed, because I believe you have to take the inner/outer fairing, as well as the fairing cap off to get to the everything you need.
I had the front forks/beer cans replace on my Glide with powdercoated black ones at an indy, and it took them 4 hours.

I'vetakenmore than oneHD apart. I can do it in the amount of time I said. Sure, if I were an indy, I'd gladly charge you an extra hour or two.
I just did black lowers and cow bells on my 03 EC. It took me about 2 Hrs start to finish. I also have all the correct tools and a shop style bike lift. The only part of the fairing I took apart was the outer shell.
