Question for the paint guys. I have a chance to by some lowers for my bike. They are black with white flames on them. Not big on the flames. Not sure that I want to buy them and then have to get the lowers repainted. Is there a way to get the flames off without damaging the HD paint?
If the flames were clear coated over it is hard to do. If they were painted over the existing clear it's possible but still very time consuming.
If you are just going for black it easier and faster just to sand it off, repaint and clear coat. Not a big deal and will be cheaper in the long run since you would have to clear coat at least anyways.
Even a pro would have a tough time removing just the flames and end up with nice results. You are looking at a respray, but can always give it a try before you take it in. Or so as others have suggested - eBay or the interweb.
