From: i live outside Omaha Ne on the Iowa side in the Loes hills, some great places to ride
RE: Chicago HD
don't seem like they stock much. every time i order from them it is on factory back order. i order , they order , they get , then i get what i ordered..
but it is still 20% and shipping not bad deal.
I was just in the Glenview store today (Chicago Harley as three locations, internet shipping happens out of Glenview, Downtown Chicago Store is cloths store only far as I have heard).
All Harley Davidson merchandise is 20% until May 31st at least.
If you're asking about the Western Ave. store, ask Kim, she's the GM and the link between the store and HOG chapter. You can drop my name if you need to.
How they can find anything in there is beyond me. Every shop I have been in has been clean and organized. The shop on Western was one big mess. I guess when you offer 20% off you don't have to be presentable to still get business. When I initially pulled up, I thought the place had closed down.
20% off for any and all, Western Ave and Glenview stores. Never ever asked for the 20 off but always got it. I ride past Lakeshore HD to go to Chicago Harley to save $$$.
Bought my FL from Chicago HD in Glenview, just a couple miles from where I work, by far the best deal in NE Illinois/SE Wisconsin- and yes I checked them all.
Unless it's a big ticket type item, I usually end up getting my parts from Ukes because it's much closer to where I live and the WI tax is only 5%. Plus it seems that the parts are often a few bucks off list anyway, so in the end, the savings vs. Chicago HD isn't all that much, especially if you factor in waiting for the parts to ship, shipping charges, or the extra trip down there. In the end, convenience plays as much a part of it as price does for me.
Been to a lot of tent sales and such too over the years, Chicago HD has had the best prices on their clearance stuff too, my wife got a jacket last fall during their open house sale, regular price was almost $400 and it was marked down to $70.....now that's what I call a sale price!
If you're going to order online, might as well check eBay and some of the other places, spend an hour on Google, never know what you'll come across....
