Think of the PCV as "last generation" and limited in ability.
A more able tuner might give a better result not only on the rollers, but on the street, day to day

I wouldn't base the entire purchase on just that- but do consider it a part of the total cost.

FM ( who I don;t use) has a great reputation for aftersale care- that has a value too.

There are a number of other motor kits from S&S hillside and other vendors.

take a look at their dyno curves, results, user reviews etc.

You will not prefect it with Auto Tune. Period. If $$ is the issue, you can at least get somewhat close with AT, and you can dyno it later. My concern though would be that the 107" makes a lot more heat than the 103", so without a dyno run it's really difficult to know if you're running lean or not. If you're running as lean as I was prior to having my motor dyno'ed, you can do damage. With a PV, a really knowledgeable and competent tuner very well may be able to dial it in using data log, AT, and all the other tools that the PV has to offer, but even he'd have to be highly knowledgeable. With the PCV, not so.

I hope you don't cheap out on that last critical step, but it's your build; your bike. Best of luck, and by all means let us know how you did. I hope you end up as happy as many of us have that chose the same build components.

There is no substitute for a proper dyno tune. All Autotune can do is help your bike find the tuning parameters that the canned map sets. But, the odds that the canned tunes parameters are those that maximize your performance is minute. If you're going to put all of that money into your build, don't scrimp on the most important part.

Much more succinctly put, and dead nuts on. Until such time as a bike has a dynomometer ON the bike, and the rider has access to a place where ALL the throttle positions can be ran through while riding, AND the rider can pay attention to a computer screen while he/she rides, the substitute for a tune on a dynomometer simply doesn't exist.

Thanks for all the advice. I just ordered the FM 107 kit with 10.5:1 pistons and 999-6a cams. I am going to buy a power vision and sell the power commander to recoup some money.

Harley Davidson's Screamin Eagle 2016 parts Catalog has A few BOLT ON 110, with 4 inch cylinders,
in a kits that dose not need case boring. This could be an alternative to a 107 kits that are out there.

If you know someone with a powervision you can by another license for it for I think $300, use it to tune your bike then give the unit back to them. Fuelmoto can help you with this!!

Your going to need an AT 100 or Target Tune in addition to your PV, you need the wide bands to tune a 107 properly.
