Still on my first HD SmartCharger, works fine.
Tip: I installed a $5 small sealed led volt meter, just wired in in and tied it up on top of the charger. With charger unplugged, connect tender to bike, mower, car, boat, whatever, and display will read out voltage condition of connected battery, as well as confirm good connection (Including double checking deltran extension cords). If you "Clip" the charger backwards to a battery, (Don't ask) it will show nothing.
When you then power up the charger, volt values go up, steady, then back down to maintain. Much better than dummy lights.
I went with something like this one, green led version. Small, cool.

For checking voltage while riding the bike I just hang this:

off the tender pigtail. The bonus is that it actually reads out numbers so I can see stator output as well.

Yep, but wish the display was a little bigger, just imagine the possibilities of getting your focus fixated on that display? Hard to get out of that one easily, especially if Mr. Murphy is on your bike with you!

If it is broken and no warranty, take it apart and see what is inside. Might be something easy to fix, if not, then toss it. It is already broken so nothing to lose and you might learn something.

I agree 100%. I guess what I meant to convey is that I use it for quick diagnostic tool. I keep it in tool bag along with one of the battery tender alligator clip harnesses. I used to carry a multi meter but they get beat up. This tool along with the harness let's me at least see voltage.

Most Battery Tender Jr. will last 5 to 7 years, the regular standard tender will go about 11 years.

My 11 year old Battery Tender that I have on an old car just stopped working last month.

When the tenders are in used a lot, and most of us use them a lot, they give up at the end of their
useful life span.
