I didn't notice it at the dealer when I picked her up but I did on the way home. Is it normal or should I mention this when I go in for the exhaust work tomorrow?
Seems the seat won't even sit flush on the left because of those cables.
I have three seats for my Road King Classic and they all go on farther than that, I can not see any of the wiring on mine unless the seat is off the bike, there is no gap between the tank and seat and mine gos up further on the chrome. In the top pic with the touring seat you can see there is no gap and in the third pic with the Sundowner seat there is no gap. The bottom pic is of a stock 07 Road King of a HD web page, no gap.All my seats fit the same way with no gap.
My ultra has the gap and I've tried to fix it by loosening the dash and re aligning, and doing the same with the seat. I got it a little better than it was but its still there. Seems like some bikes fit better than others, guess it depends on what day of the week there built.
I have tried three different seats on my 01 RKC. They all fit a little differently but none had as much of a gap as you show. You may be able to get some forward movement by adjusting the mounting bolt hardware at the back of the seat. One of the seats I had used two screws under the seat to fasten the seat to fender hardware. You may be able to re-drillthe clip so that the seatis more forward.
Have you checked for any interference under the front of the seat at the clip tobe sure it is not bound up on a wiring harness or something?
Doesn't seem normal to me. Both the stock seat and the Sundowner seat on my RK overlap the metal at the bottom of the center console. Seems like it's not pushed up all the way.
