What is this lever for? I haven't taken the seat off to see what it controls. I can tell by moving the lever that it is not attached. I hope it is for the backrest because attaching and unattaching the backrest is a PITA. Just trying to get some advice before digging.
Looks like the control for the adjustable backrest. Stick your fingers into the slot in the seat to see if it has a backrest receptacle. You might want to pull the main fuse first before fooling with it, just in case someone installed an ejection seat!!
It does have a backrest and tour package just like your setup. I don't have the backrest installed in the little slot in that picture. So that lever will control the tilt on the backrest? It currently has came unattached, so I'll have to find out where it connects. That extra bar on the back behind the seat is where the tour box sets. It is a bolt on bracket instead of quick detach. I haven't did the $300 conversion to quick detach as I'm ok with the two screw two bolt setup right now and have other plans in front of that project.

It might not be unattached. If someone pulled the lever since the backrest was removed then the backrest receptacle might be resting in the full forward position giving the illusion that nothing is happening when the lever is pulled. You might try "prying" the slot where the backrest slides into to a more rearward position while pushing the lever.
