moving to 204's in my 2013 RKC over the winter as well. Have 255's in her now and bike runs hot so getting rid of them. Can't wait to hear the idle. If possible, post a sound clip or YouTube video with sound of your bike... and some pics.

What do you pay for that 204 cam install?

My 08 Road King is on the stand now. After 118,000 miles it's getting an upgrade to 103 and after discussing my riding style, he is going with the 204 cams. Should get it back next week. It will be a totally different bike with that kind of increase in power.

I'm glad you are happy with the results and sound from the true duals. That's what's on my bike. Can't wait to ride it.

Luckily I can ride year round

I've got the 204's and they're a no compromise cam. Great low end torque, really starts coming on at 2700 rpm and pulls well up to 5500 but will rev to 6200 but falls off a little before that. Ridden easy (rare), I've gotten a little better than 40 mpg. Cool sounding idle and works great both 1 up and 2 up. Given the taller gearing of the 07 models, 6th gear still very usable at 70 mph with no need to shift down to accelerate. I've got 86k miles on it now. When I open it up and take it up to 107" and port the heads, I may very well stay with the 204's.

Labor was 280 bux at my dealer, (4 hours x $70.00). Part prices can be checked on the HD site, but were roughly 370 for cams and 190 for rod kit, so $ 840-ish Canadian installed.

They can be a tricky cam to tune to their full potential. Took me 2 different shops to get it right. When they are on they are great as an all around mid range cam. 2 up on a bagger you might want the curve to the left a bit more.

This ^^^^ is an excellent description IMHO.

I've been telling people I'm on the cam at about 2800 rpm; 2800, 2700, no matter, when you're on it,, you know ! My OEM bike had a clear overabundance of that legendary HD low end grunt,, a stump puller starting off but,, 6th gear was literally nothing but an overdrive. The 204 took the excess torque away from the low end and spread it evenly, bottom to top. Something akin to taking a swimming pool with a 15 ft deep end and a 3 ft shallow end and transforming it into a 9 ft pool. Its the same amount of water but you can dive in from anywhere. With a 204, "All Gears Matter ", and above 2750 rpm (I'll split the difference), acceleration is truly impressive all the way through 6th.

As to sound, I've read posts that flip off "Improved Sound" as frivolous. Really ? We spend $ 000's on bolt on bling or blackout powder coating in the interests of image. Don't tell me that an "Alpha" sounding idle ain't worth a few bux !! The 204 is "Potato, Potato, Potato," recited by Stuttering John.
