I haven't noticed too many RK's that have the chrome Kuryakyn mid-frame and neck/down tube covers installed. Just curious what ya'll think of them and if there are any inherant problems with installing them, like trapped moisture behind them causing problems or anything like that.
Great fit and finish. Moisture should not be a concern.
One thing though: This covers the neck where the VIN is located. Keep the appropriate size allen wrench with you when riding in case LEO's want to see that frame #. A buddy watched as LEO's broke off the neck piece on a suspected stolen bike at Laughlin last spring.
Just recently found out myself that these covers are available in black. I'll be buying some shortly for my SG.

Thanks Scott/ Jim, I appreciate the feedback. I haven't seen very many of the covers installed but the ones I have seen really clean up the lines of the frame. I haven't seen any of the black ones but it would accomplish the same thing by hiding the wiring on the neck. Nice rides BTW. As soon as I figure it out I'll post a pic of mine.
My motto is "you can never have enough chrome" I say go for it

Yeah, me too; I have the butt ugly covers--sure miss seeing all that wiring at the frame neck, you know--and I sure miss seeing my black frame--makes me want to take off those chrome frame covers that sparkle and clean-up so much easier than my black frame did.
Hope none of you readers make the same mistake I did--save your money--and eat more Chikin.
