They say 20k on transmission fluid, I do mine at 5k.
Cheap, and makes me feel better.
I'm one with a rubber mallet and a brass punch, and a towel.
It's a PIA and costs $100 and a couple of hours if you do it yourself. And along with 5,000 mile tranny changes at $10 x 20 changes (just to get to 100,000 miles,) I'd say you're about $550 lighter than I for the same mileage. But heh, if it makes you happy
I prefer my efforts to actually accomplish something.
Of the 5 HD's I've owned I never even thought of changing the fuel filter. I'm pretty **** about maintenance but I can't see going through the crap of accessing it unless I'm in there for something else or I have a performance issue directly relating to it.
My ride has 43k on it. I elected to renew the fuel filter, pressure regulator, fuel strainer and fuel line / quick disconnect. I figured as long as I have it out I'm replacing it all. My filter looks such as yours. Very dirty. I'm glad I went ahead and changed it early. One less thing to worry about.
I just changed mine at 25,000 looked liked yours. (stained) Pulled several pleats apart and found no reason to change at 25,000 again. I may try to remember to do it again at 75,000.
Really . You need a new tuner better yet buy a PV ad move on. Retune for a filter change. NO way
You need an HONEST tuner.
Re-tune a bike for a fuel filter replacement???? That is one lying MFer is he is incompetent. Either way, I wouldn't let him work on broken cinder block.
