Default Autotune

Gang, please explain a basic concept to me.

Regarding Autotune, I know I need to run 3 sessions of about 30 minutes.

Does this mean that I create an autotune, run it for 30 minutes, then export the session. Then, run another 2, 30 minute sessions and each time, save on the existent sessions?

Im confirming that after each 30 minute sessions, I export whatever what was learned. And then save each learned session on the previous session.

Thanks guys.

Yeah. Do a session, export learned. Disable autotune, enable autotune and choose the just saved session tune. Rinse and repeat until there is very little change, like less than 5%. When you're done, connect the PV to your PC get the tune, rename it, save it, and send it back to the PV so you can keep track of what you're running. I usually use dates in my tune file names...

Also, 30 minutes may or may not be what you need. Ride and try to fill in as many cells as you can. So you'll want to be on roads where you can ride with no traffic so you can vary how you're riding without pissing someone off or getting run over.

I made a cheat sheet from this DynoJet Video:

Print the cheat sheet and watch the video, the cheat sheet basically gives the steps Chris states in the video. I ran 3 20 minute sessions. Loaded the tune that matched my stage 1, ran auto tune, exported the tuned map, saved it to a slot, then load that new auto tuned map and auto tune again. Repeat. Auto tune worked really well for our bikes.
Good luck

Cheat sheet:

Power Vision Auto Tune
Connect Power Vision to Diagnostic Connector
Ignition On and Run Stop Switch On
Program Vehicle - Accept
Auto tune - Enable Auto tune
Select Tune (choose which tune to auto tune) - Select
* Choose Basic - Continue (reading configuration and writing returning to normal operation. Flashing to ECM)
Screen will prompt to turn the key off for 10 seconds OK - Turn bike back on

Start Bike

Program Vehicle – Accept
Auto Tune
Data Log - Green Data Logging screen appears, this means learning process is active
Log Modes: Hit displays what cell of the VE table have recorded usable information
VE Front VE Rear current volumetric efficiency for front and rear cylinders
LVEF LVER learned volumetric efficiency front and rear
LCORF LCORR learned correction front and rear % of current VE to be added or subtracted
RT real time
After ride hit - Exit
Export Learned – Continue (if any VE values exceed 127.5 Cap the Value)
Select a Slot for the new tune – Select – OK – OK
To continue Auto Tuning with the new tune
Disable Auto Tune – yes –Enable Auto Tune – Select the saved tune from the slot- Select - go to *
If you are done auto tuning – Back – Back - Program - Vehicle – Accept – Load Tune – Custom Tune – Choose tune from slot – Select – Continue – Flash – Rest Learned values – Yes – when prompted turn off for 10 seconds

Short answer is yes. you save the session to a slot and use that slot for your next session. Auto Tune is not perfect, you can get a bad session. if you keep saving onto the same slot writing over the previous, you could ruin all your runs with the bad one. I like to save my run to the next slot, run the bike and see if im good with how it runs, then continue more sessions running off the previous but saving to a new slot.
