Pick up my RK Classic on thursday and was wondering how quiet the stock pipes are. I have VH ovals on order but the race modular is on on back order so its going to be a couple weeks so I said I want it have it ready on thursday. Can ride for couple hundred miles till they come in. So I was wondering I hear everyone saying stock is quiet. Thanks Guys and I am coming over from the Rice Rocket side to the real side LOL!
Welcome and ride that thing until the parts arrive. You will know what quiet is. Stop by the dealer and listen to all the bikes that have modified their pipes.
sup guy? I think the stock pipes suck. If you ride with anyone who has pipes you will not hear your bike. Not even close to the way a harley should sound. went to the harley shop and heard the rush pipes and was hooked. Asked the guy soon as he got on his bike what they were and said thats the sound i want. The gov. clammping down on bikes is crazy. The bike comes alive with just a little help from the pocketbook. Airflow and exhaust is all you need. Heading to myrtle spring rally sat. for the first ride on a bagger, can't wait.

Congrats on the new scoot. Welcome to the forum. I have a RKC also, the stock pipes are a bit quiet. sound like an old VW bug. I changed mine to Bassani power curve duels. Now it sounds like it should. ( my opinion only, not to be taken for the last word on exhaust ) Enjoy your scoot and ride the pi$$ out of it.
Welcome from the great PNW, and welcome to the forum. Lots of great folks & amazingly good in-depth info here. You'll also learn to ignore the curmudgeons and just consider them part of the forum "character"!
I did a sound check on my 06 RK Custom before and after adding Ovals -- there was an exact 10 dB increase in sound over stock (at idle). I think the new stock mufflers might be slightly louder than previous years; maybe the MoCo's attempt to keep us from going louder...
