Default Handlebar Question

What are the tallest handlebars that can be used with the stock wiring and cables. I feel like the stock bars make me slouch after a short time, which makes my neck and upper back ache.

Choose the handlebars that are most comfortable and buy the required cables that go with it. Its completely silly and short sighted to let cable length be the limiting factor on comfort, even more so if its on a bike on which you plan to put a lot of miles.

Besides, the stock cables look like ***.

Cheap solution, I used 08 heritage bars. Comfortable solution, KST 16 inch Mayhems. Put the heritage bars on for six months until I could upgrade the cables, wires and bars.

I apologize in advance for the thread hijack.

I purchased an 2006 Ultra Classic last year. It is my first Harley Davidson. I put these Heli Bars on mine because I was having the same issue as you describe. While they helped me a lot, I still feel like I need more reach back.

So now I am curious about how to get longer bars and how to go about getting longer cables and wires.

While I understand that longer throttle cables and clutch cables are available, I am curious about the brake hoses and the electrical wires.

Nice derby cover!

10" bars are max with stock wiring and cables. I have 10 LA Chopper bagger bars on my SG and would go any higher without cables and wires.

^^^Ditto^^^

Did mine (10" LA Choppers), but ended up getting a longer clutch cable to route back through batwing portal.

Had the same problem and solved it by using risers and a street slammer cover . It was posted by another member some time ago

Just put 10" Wild1 Chubby's on mu Ultra, no way I would or could go higher without replacing the cables or extending the wiring.
