Default Show your bars that didn't require extended cables/wires

I'd like to get a set of bars for my 13 RGC and would like to see some pics of what some of you went with that didn't require cable/wire extensions. I'd like to go up to 12"/13" if possible.

My inner and outer are off for painting, but same bike so hopefully you can get some perspective. These are Wild Ones Outlawz 12", stock wires and cables, just need to reroute clutch cable.

Talk to John the tech guy at Wild Ones, he rides a RG and can tell you exactly which bars would need cables/wires. I believe their regular 12" apes require extensions. To give you some perspective, the 12" outlawz grip height is about 2.5-3" higher than stock depending on how much you roll them forward or back and the wrist angle is very comfortable. Just sitting on the bike feels much better with these bars, can't wait to ride. The outlawz have a 90 degree bend at the bottom of the bar which looks much better on the RG IMO, but the wiring does require some patience (several new cuss phrases invented during this job). Although it's not a wiring length issue, switching to the screaming eagle TGS is almost a must - it eliminates the stupid little green plug in the middle of the bars and puts the connector for heated grips at the end of the wiring so it doesn't hang up either, I tried it a few times with the stock wire and finally bit the bullet and spent the $106 bucks on the much easier to work with cable and a can of dry spray lube readily available at the local home depot. It may be possible to feed those connectors and the grip wiring through, but there's a good chance of tearing something up in the process because of the connectors. The wild ones website has some great pics of RGs with 12 and 14" bars also. I had thought about 10" bars as well, but they are barely higher than stock bars.

Jayzee,

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted to upgrade my handlebars but didn't want to upgrade any of the brake or clutch cables.

The tallest you can do without changing cables are the 10" bars. PYO Monkey Bars are some of the most popular out, but a real paint to install.

I decide to go a different route and use a set of 2013 CVO Road Glide bars that are 1 1/4". Some 2013 CVO owners may find these are not for them. I could not be happier with the feel and look on my Road Glide.

Good Luck,

YB

RGs and SGs are different on bars. Had to change clutch and brake to do 12.5 Chubbies on my SG. Didn't change anything except clutch routing on my RG with 12 ChubbyZs.

Thanks everyone! After doing some more research, I was told that the WO612 CHUBBY 12" OUTLAWZ will work without needing new cables or cable extension.
