Default 21" wheel question

Just made a purchase on a 21" wheel and tire, so my question is..... will the 21" setup raise the front end up and will effect the ride? I will eventually get a rear wheel which is my next question, what size would pair up with the the 21"?

Thanks

I have the 21" front wheel with the stock rear wheel and it rides better than the stock wheel, I have rear air ride in order for my shorter than average legs. My last build I had a 21" front wheel with a 18" rear wheel, I like the stock rear wheel better than the3 aftermarket wheel. JMO

I run a 21" up front - stock height forks - stock wheel in the rear but with 13" JRI shocks - no handling issues

The 21" wheel raises the front of the bike about 1". In my opinion this is a situation that is over thought by many folks. I run a 21" front with a stock size rear and love it. I have nearly 50k miles on this setup.

My advice is always the same. Put the 21" wheel on and ride the bike prior to making any decisions about lowering the front end. Don;t get me wrong, I like to market and sell products together but if you do both at the same time it is difficult to differentiate what has done what to the ride.

I have the 21" front and lowered shocks to compensate for the bigger diameter. The back is 16". My sig pic has this setup.

I added the 21" PM Heathen to my bike about a year ago. I noticed immediately that the front came up a bit. But to me it felt like the bike rode even better. ( I could also tell it moved up because my head light shines a little higher than before, especially on bright).

To answer your 2nd question (and I don't know anything for sure) but most of the manufacturers like PM, sell the 21" front with a 17" rear and the rear tire is a 200 not a 180 like the stock tire.

For rear wheels if you have a 2013 or earlier ( as it looks to be from your sig pic) you can do a 16x5.5 with a 180/65/16 tire, a 17x6.25 with a 200/55/17 tire, or an 18x5.5 with a 180/55/18 tire. I run a 16 wit the 180/65/16, stock height mono tubes and 13" spring shocks.

Thanks for the info guys, while my bike is in storage my front wheel will look good under the Christmas tree.

Now for the rear wheel, I see some of you guy's running a 200 tire for the rear, is there enough clearance under the fender without modifying it?

Nice scoot, how do you like the ride with your wheel setup?
