Hi, this is my first post on the forum here, christmas is near and wanted to make a gift for my old man.. He got a flhtk 2013 110th anniversary and i want to buy him a set of slip ons.. I have cycle shack on my 48 and i love the sound. I can put my hands on a new set for a really good price, id like to know whats the diameter of the head pipe on those '13 flhtk? The slip ons are MHD-324, i looks some place on internet and it says it might not fit and need headpipes... Someone can help me out ???
The 2013 will have a catalytic converter in the header pipe- that really reduces the sound- so the muffler has less effect on sound than you might expect.
Some of the guys here are happy with the stock mufflers after changing the header.
You would need a 2010 or newer header with the catalytic converter removed- these cost about $150 ( here in the US) on ebay- or you can buy an aftermarket header for much more $$$- the results will be about the same either way.
The 2010+ header will fit the frame and also have the correct size O2 sensor bungs in the correct position.
This will give a louder deeper tone- not so loud that you will be stopped by the Surete...
I have had that "pleasure"....they used to like to sit at the NB border...
When choosing exhaust if "sound" is a prime consideration it is best to hear the pipes in person...such as a bike night or other event...late in the season for you though.
If you try a decatted header and you still want to change the sound, it is easy to change the slip ons.

Looks like this post may get you more confused. Sorry
However, as stated, the bike came with the Cats in the headpipe and will effect the sound, also, as stated, perceved sound is very Subjective, what sounds good to me May Not sound good to you OR your 'Old Man'
Since the bike is most likley out if warranty - to get the best sounds - remove the 'Cats' however, this will cost more and take more time to install.
I had a 2004 withe Rinhart True duals - Loved the sound - sold that bike and got a new 2015 Ultra - I also got the 7 year ESP - For Now - I do not want to battle the ESP/Warranty police?,lol - so, Iam leaving the 'Cats' in. I did the reasearch like you are doing and ended up with 'Rush' slip on's - OK sound and the CS at Rush is great
I know about the catalytic converter in the head pipe, i want to know if the flhtk 2013 has a 1 3/4 or 2" head pipes diameter.. Seems to have 2" with true duals and 1 3/4" with the other one that looks like a 2 into 1... Dont have my dads bike near to check it out
