Default Question on handle bars for a 90s classic

Ok I have a 1990 electra glide classic I want to put 11 inch bars on it. I have a set here I'm not sure of what year they fit. I do know they are chubbys. So my question is.... is there a difference in diameter from years? And if so what is the diameter of the the 1990s

All are 1" diameter at the clamp and grips. Just make sure that they are wide enough at the bottom.

Now this is a stupid question but when I measure where the grips go and where the clamps for riser go the outside diameter is 3.25 inches. How do I measure the diameter by the riser mount

When new your bike had air forks, with an air valve in the end of the left-hand handlebar. In addition, out of sight, it has a union to connect with the rest of the air system, connecting to the tops of each fork leg. If you still have that system and wish to retain it you will need a suitable set of bars, with those features. There are ways of removing that system and improving ride quality, if you wish, to use plain bars.
