Default Leaving this weekend..am I ready?

Well were are leaving Saturday morning to ride up to Mena Ar. and thru the Talihina scenic pass which should wind up being about 700 mile round trip. I have 320 miles on my new SG as I type this. I should be able to bring that up to 400 before we leave on Saturday and will change all the fluids Friday night before we leave. Is the bike ready to run 75 and 80 for an hour at a time? Do I need to watch my speed at this point?

Since I bought my Classic I have riden it from the start like I ride right now. 12000 and no problems. So I'm saying ride it i'm sure you won't be at 70 to 80 for hunreds of miles at a time. These engines are made to run not sit. Have a GREAT trip!!!

put an extra coat of wax on the fairing to make bug removal easier... same for windscreen, put some aviation plastic cleaner on it.

Since Softtail Bob has his answer, basically to not worry about it, Can I ask Softtail Bob and rparnel1 the routes planned/rode?I am leaving from Ft Worth heading that way over Memorial Day weekend. I am staying at the Talking Trees campground Friday (leaving the metroplex midday) near the Talimena Trail in OK. Riding it into Mena, ARSat morning and winding our way up to Eureka Springs and staying at Iron Horse Stables Saturday night. Havent figured out the place to pitch the tent for Sunday yet. Thinking Jefferson, TX but probably more likely Hot Springs.

Wondering what roads to ride. Right now I plan to just get "lost" and see what we find.

http://www.ironhorsestables.com

Never been there so I can give a report in a few weeks. Something like $10 for tent which is typical. Neat thing is they also have little roofs you can use your own air mattress in anda hotel with rooms. Plus shop, grill, and saloon.
