Shock lengths
Got a set Thanks
Are street glide and Elec glide shocks the same length
I am looking to lower my 2010 Limited about 1 inch and was hoping I could just change shocks.

Check the classifieds. There are usually newer take offs in there for a lot less than new. They also have the coil overs from the specials that will fit. Past that there are a lot of aftermarket shocks for lowering that will improve your ride quality at the same time. Just more $$
I have been researching and the Progressive 944 would seem like an ideal mid range price choice with a 13" shock that sags to a 12" profile. I.E. on my Street Glide it will look like stock ride height but have that extra inch of travel. Or lower an Ultra or RK one inch.
But... I'm having a hard time trying to wrap my head around this mounting them upside down thing!
It seems they don't fit with detatchable tour pak or passengers backrest right side up. They get mostly good reviews but not much mention about mounting them this way. I called Progressive and they said it makes no difference. Maybe it's just me but I'm also looking a bit higer up the price scale, Pro-Action and then Ohlins at the top. Does anybody that has the 944's upside down have any problems with them?

I will say this though. The Pro-Actions are tight with my docking hardware but then again my 2010 backrest is snug on my 2016 as well. I am going to add a small washer in the top mount to space them out about .040" to aid in the installation/removal of the backrest. I am not sure if this is a clearance issue with the shock or the backrest being slightly out of tolerance because of the fit on the 16.
I absolutely love my Pro-Actions but I would take nothing away from Ohlins. As I have stated many times. I wouldn't by anything that you can't vary the Damping on externally to the shock if you want the most out of your ride.
