what im trying to do is keep the stock sound but get ride of the heat, so buy what im reading it sounds like i need to put on true duals to get ride of the heating problem. i was down at thunder beach this weekend and all that stop and going got my legs fried. so if i go with the true dual system will i have to re sert it or what and what is the best true dual to go with but keep the stock sound. it seems that fullsac true duals are pretty good so if there are anyone out there running them please drop me a line and let me know what you think about them.
I went with the fullsac duals and stock mufflers. (the first step in my quest for the perfect bagger).
They do reduce "felt" heat especially when going slow and in traffic.
You will notice more heat behind your left calf though, in traffic.
Definite improvement in sound , but took a pretty good torque loss in the low to middle RPM range. (carb).
If this is all you want to accomplish , then the fullsacs and a good tune ,sert,pc3,whatever, will help a bunch.
The fullsac is a nice kit for the money , I will probably put it back on after I get most of my tuning done.

If your happy with the sound & ride... Try RJ's Orignals "NO MORE FRIED THIGHS" Bunch cheaper then True Duals - & would recommend Amsoil in ALL 3 holes to reduce the heat also
Just read in the Harley Enthusiast magazine of a new (free) download for the ECM that disables the rear cylinder when the vehicle isn't moving, i.e. stop & go traffic, etc. then reactivates the cylinder when you start moving again, all without the rider feeling anything. It's supposed to work pretty well for cutting down on heat.
If you're interested talk to the service folks at your dealer. It may get you what you want and not cost you a dime...
