in the engine i use mobil 1 15-50 from wally world. $26.44 for a 5qt jug.
I'm no expert but i have always felt that the oil to be used in all three holes had to make too many compromises. What might be good for the engine is bad for the clutch. What's good for the clutch might be bad for the tranny. Etc. I like to use oil specifically formulated for a motor in the motor. Same for the tranny and primary.
I just had my engine rebuilt at 110,000 miles and that's what was in it for most of them. My indy, who hates syn oil, said the wear was much less than he expected.

Still haven't split the cases yet for that oil related failure, but with 154,000 miles on the '00 Road Glide / Road King-see sig line, (and Mobil 20W-50 Vtwin up to 100,000 miles and Mobil 15W-50 from then til now,) there's more than an opinion on my end, isn't there?
I did have to add a quart at 4,000 miles on the 5,000 service though this last time
just giving a heads up on a price ,not starting a what to use thread LOL.
I wasn't trying to change the thread. That is a great price for the Mobil 1 V-twin. I just wanted to add to what you where doing by giving another Mobil 1 option at a much lower price. I have had no issues using Mobil 1 15W-50 but use what works for you. I still use the V-twin in the primary. I just hate the higher price on it simply because it says V-twin. The difference in additives doesn't justify the price gap.
There are a million threads here about what's the best oil. Arguing oil brand or viscosity is like arguiung about the best beer. Pretty much any oil will work just like any beer will get you drunk. ( except O'Doul's )
