)I can assume no major overhaul or rebuild?
I was a bit leery buying my first Harley, there is so much Harley bashing out there, but I discounted most of it.
My bike was one of the early Twin Cams with the excellent hot forged crank and Timken Lefty bearing to support it. Those items are gone or have been replaced with lesser (IMO) cheaper substitutes. I don't know how far a newer one will go, but gently ridden like mine? Maybe so.
I replaced the heads at 71,000, the gear drive cams at 81,000 and the rear belt at 118,000. (The crappy charging system went early and often, a CompuFire 3 phase being the last at 51,000.)
All the rest, fuel pump, filter and lines, EBay'd '09 and later shocks, swingarm bushings and biscuits, spring cap for the compensator, all the relays etc were replaced at around 100,000 miles as preventive maintanance. The cases, pistons and rings remain untouched.
It's been ridden to Daytona this past October and I plan on riding back down there in February. I obviously trust this bike.
