Up until recently I wore the Wiley X's and really like them, but, when I first got them I wasn't very happy with the side arms, orthe elastic strap that held them on. To solve my problem I bought a crokie (one of those adjustable straps that keeps your glasses from coming off your face) and used the side arms. Buy doing that, I was able to get them tight enough to keep the wind out, but not to cut off the circulation.
I still have mine, but since gettting the FLH a normal pair of sunglasses works well.
I think you answered your own question.
If the glasses you are wearing are not doing the trick then
I would try goggles. Go with a mid priced goggle for now.
Good luck on your decision.
Been wearing Panoptx for years. They are a little expensive, but last forever if you take care of them. I also sent a 7 year old pair back last year for foam replacement - $25 and they are like new now. Great company.
most of the time sun glasses but always carry goggles with me, several places like Canada etc. the roads are just not traveled that much and there's always alot of dust.
Iceman, I too have prescription glasses. Mine came safety prescribed. A place called Reliable here in town. Don't know who you work for. I got mine payroll deducted. The thing I dont like about them is the foam around the glasses. I tend to sweat alot around my eyes and have to wipe them alot.
I do have a vision plan (not a great one)... but it is better than nothing. I may check (haven't had new glasses in awhile) to see what kinda 'payment' they will cover if I have 'em done through something like SportRX.com They will run somewhere around $250 for the polarized ones. but I like the extra 'lens' ... will help some fogging in the cold as it adds an extra buffered lense between your eye and the prescription lens.
Hey yoppermjm.... did you order yours from Sportrx? They do seem to have a nice selection of prescription riding eyeware ... from Wiley to panoptix
Prices seem "OK" but I haven't seen many sites with so many different styles of glasses they can give prescriptions with.
Thinking about either:
Pan Optx Bora CV
Panoptx Diablo CV
I got mine through a local eye doc, he gives me them for cost as he's a member of my church (perk!!). I'm not sure the name, but I'll let you know when they get in.
