Default Goggles or Glasses

Hello:

Now that the warm weather is here, I am riding with my 1/2 helmet or none. I have some Wiley glasses with the seals around the edges but to really keep the seal I have to push 'em into my eye sockets...and I still get movement and wind rushing-in...which equals blurred vision...not good.

Do you wear goggles? What are your preferred types/brands? I am thinking goggles will do a better job...and I need the neoghbors to stop laughing at me whan I wear my SCUBA Mask! <not>

Thanks!

SG

I just picked up a pair of guard-dog goggles called Goggs. I bought the clear lens model since I don't want to have to get another pair for night riding. The price is reasonable - around 30 bucks.

Get the kind of goggles that have the foam seal around your eyes so you dont catch a bug or piece of sand in the eye... They still breath to eliminate fogging but are FAR safer than regular glasses.

My avatar pic shows this type of goggle and I swear by them. My m/c shop sells them for like $12 a pair. I've got a clear pair for nite time anddarkfor daytime in my saddle bags.

I can't remember who makes them, but I picked up a pair at Barnett in El Paso. They have three lenses. Blue sun glass, yellow tinted (for over cast), and clear for night. I also wear the yellow at night sometimes, really brightens everything up, haven't had issues with oncoming headlights either. I love the glasses. They have removable arms, to attach a goggle strap (although I have never needed it), and the rubber around the frame is removable, if I just want the sunglasses feel. I find that at events I ride to, I sweet around the eyes if I don't take off the rubber seal. Has a cloth/nylon cleaner and a bag that has a loop to attach to my belt or a plastic buckle to snap on a belt loop. I bought them for $39 bucks and were worth every dime. Many different eye appearal configurations. Next time I am down in the garage, I will find out who makes them. I love 'em , and see no reason to ever buy another pair. Here is a pic with me wearing them. They had the sun lens in grey, but I found that the blue really fit better.

Google or Yahoo?

I like both, goggles and glasses.

Glasses in the summer, goggles in the winter.

I wear glasses only, and have for years and years. I have three pairs - Ray Bans for the day, and then two pairs of Curves (yellow and clear). I have never liked the feel of goggles. And yes, I also ride in cold weather and rain.

Foam seal eye sockets are great when the windshield comes off, and I wear contacts. With the windshield mostly I wear perscription sunglasses, but they do not work with the windshield off, tears, etc. as other said....

Well... I ended up with a pair of "ALL STAR" goggles so they go over my glasses. I didn't want the BIG-BENS as those are even bigger. I haven't decided to go with prescription riding glasses or contacts ... or even lasik surgery on my eyes so for the time being I use goggles big enough to go over my framed glasses.

My initial pair of all star goggles came as a package deal. Got the Smoke, Clear, yellow for something like $45. Had 'em for about a year when I broke (on accident) the amber lens while swapping lenses. Ordered another pair from a different website and got Smoke, yellow and OrangeBronze. So now I leave the Smoke lenses in one set and can swap the other one for orange, clear or yellow.

Just ordered a pair of prescription glasses with the foam all around and transition lenses. Hopefully they'll be good day and night.
